I may have to turn off my TV in the week ahead.
Well, don’t get me wrong. I’m going to watch the Mexican Grand Prix, but yeah, after that, I’m thinking to preserve my own head and heart I’m going to have to not participate in it all.
Smith is ahead of Jones by 3%! But Smith kicks puppies when no one is looking! Jones is ahead of Smith by 2%, but Jones didn’t return a library book when he was a fourth grader! Normally this kind of thing is mildly exciting to me, but this time the air is filled with all manner of This Time It’s Different energy.
I don’t like that.
I can’t believe that 40% of the country is planning to end these United States as we’ve known and loved them for all these years. But that’s what people are saying and that’s what people think. For 250 years it has all worked and a couple of years ago someone asked themself “Why?” …and decided not to play along any more. A bunch of people believed it and tried to overthrow the government. A state in the next election has a candidate for governor and a candidate for secretary of state who basically have said if they aren’t elected, then the whole process is obviously broken and they’re going to hold their breath until they turn… well, any color but Blue. And if they win, they’re going to raise all kinds of Hell.
So, it’ll happen or it won’t. I can’t do anything but vote, now. It’s too late to send any more money in. So, I’ll vote and start drinking early and check back in Wednesday or Thursday and hope for the best.
